Concrete Weight Coating

Concrete weight coating can be applied to the exterior of pipes to provide negative buoyancy to underwater pipelines and/or structural protection to both above ground and underwater pipelines.
Concrete weight coating is applied using our “Raycoat” method.
Concrete densities up to 3200 kg/m3 can be applied.
The “Raycoat “ method facilitates coating to all sizes of pipes and coating thickness.
Coating can be performed at our Eastern Province Complex or at a conveniently located, temporarily erected coating facility, producing significant savings on transporting coated pipe.
The “Raycoat” system allows the pipe to be continuously coated in strings after welding which can eliminate up to 95% of field joints, providing the string with additional stability.
Concrete weight coating is normally applied over an external corrosion coating. The “Raycoat” method of concrete application will not damage the corrosion coating. Concrete coating applied by the “Impingement” method of concrete application may damage the corrosion coating.
